Sump Pump Damage Notification
Posted By kdub on June 30, 2016
Eight months ago the Association installed two brand new sewer sump pumps at a cost of $10,000, in the last few days these pumps failed due to the amount of debris that is being flushed down the toilet on an continual basis. Because of this the Board just approved the installation of a new larger pump system at a cost of $18,000 which is needed because of the lack of attention to our notices and requests regarding flushing large debris down the toilets. Please keep in mind you should only flush toilet paper down the toilet as things like tampons, applicators, baby wipes, and condoms are not to be flushed down the toilet for any reason. If this continues the Association will have to spend extra money pumping the sewer pit and cleaning the pumps out monthly, which is extremely expensive, as the Association has spent nearly $10,000 additionally on service calls for the pumps in the last eight months. Work like this will end up causing an increase in dues as it will have to be budget for the upcoming year. Please be mindfulness of the recommendations of Management and the Association so we can keep the cost of repairs and replacement down for emergency plumbing services. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
